Sydney man sentenced on number of offences

SYDNEY — A Sydney man was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to a reduced number of offences.

Robert Michael MacLean, 20, of Bison Drive pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer, mischief (damaging a police vehicle) and breaching a condition of his probation. Other charges including assault causing bodily harm were withdrawn.

The offences occurred between April and May 2013, in Sydney.

MacLean was sentenced to one day in jail, served by his presence in court and is to complete a one-year probation period.
