SYDNEY — A 45-year-old Sydney Mines man is scheduled to be sentenced in October after pleading guilty to assault and mischief charges.

Wayne Lewellyn Bailey of Johnston Crescent pleaded guilty to three counts of mischief and single counts of assault with a weapon (a whipper snipper) and breaching a court order. Several other mischief charges were withdrawn.

The charges stem from a disturbance at a public housing project.

Bailey has been released on conditions and is now scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 2.
