Vehicle clocked at 167 km/h near Exit 7

RCMP have charged a Halifax man with stunting and impaired driving following a traffic stop in Highway 104 near Oxford on Saturday.

RCMP in Oxford have charged a Halifax man with stunting and impaired driving.

OXFORD – A 28-year-old Halifax man is facing charges of impaired driving, failing the breathalyzer, driving while his licence was revoked and stunting following an incident on Highway 104 near Oxford on Saturday.

Oxford RCMP were on patrol on the Trans-Canada Highway when they located a westbound vehicle near Exit 7 travelling at 167 km/h in a 110 km/h zone

Officers stopped the vehicle and found the driver was impaired, driving while his licence was revoked and possessed open liquor in the vehicle.

The male is due to attend court August 11th, 2014 in Amherst.
