Amherst Police are deeming a fire on Minto Street early Tuesday morning as suspicious and are investigating it as a possible arson.

AMHERST – Amherst Police are investigating a suspected case of arson early Tuesday.

Police went to a Minto Street residence at approximately 8:25 a.m. that morning after receiving reports of a fully-engulfed structure fire.

Before police arrived, a neighbour had entered the home and saved a dog that was trapped inside.

No one was else was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The department is actively investigating the incident as arson.

    Sounds like Joggins.I think they have an arsonist in there!!! It is pretty good a house was burnt down in Joggins this week . It has become such common place it doesn't even make the paper anymore!!!
