Amherst Police issued 19 warnings in May for speeding through school zones.

AMHERST – Nineteen warnings were issued to Amherst motorists in May for speeding in school zones.

Members of the Amherst Police Department focused on speeding in school zones during the month as part of their focused enforcement campaign. Officers conducted 13 hours of monitoring speeds in school zones near ARHS, E.B. Chandler, West Highlands and Spring Street Academy.

No summary offence tickets were issued.

    Its awful nice of the roadside bandits to give out freebees. But they will be in the bushes waiting to do it for real soon.
