SPRINGHILL – There is a ban on domestic brush brning across mainland Nova Scotia and parts of Cape Breton today.

Burning restrictions of Monday, June 2

No domestic brush burning, due to high risk of wildfire, has been ordered.

    Note there is a typo in the announcement above regarding the provincial ban on domestic brush burning for most of NS. It should read 'ban' and not 'band' as printed. Note also that the provincial ban called by NSDNR also supersedes municipal burning permits issued by municipal fire departments.
