PUGWASH – After two successful workdays Camp Pagweak is all spruced up and open for business.

Greg Porter is the camp director and he and his wife, Candice, and family are no strangers to Camp Pagweak as Greg has been organizing the sports camp for many summers.

Many children from all over Cumberland, Colchester and Pictou counties will be coming down the lane to the camp in just a couple of months.

Camp officials are happy to have a new hay wagon with proper seating for the children, ensuring their safety and an outdoor stage to host musical events, puppet shows and so on.

Every year there is something new to enhance the camp.

Eight weeks of camps are planned with the first one starting on June 29.

Camps are offered for ages five to 16.  Each week there is something for everyone.    Although it is known as a Baptist youth camp, children come from all denominations come to camp and we welcome every one.

The camp also welcomes any rental inquiries and have already booked some for June and September.

It’s a great place for children (and adults) to come and just have fun – picnics, school day trips, staff events and retreats are all great possibilities.  Hay rides, a zip line and a climbing wall are just some of the activities offered.

The kayaks have also been very popular along with a beautiful beach and the best view of Pugwash. Meals can also be arranged if the camps knows in advance.

For more information, call 597-8583 or visit www.pagweak.org, or go to the camp’s Facebook page.
