SPRINGHILL – The Princess Tea fundraisers returns this month for the second year in a row, offering little princesses everywhere a day of pampering, fashion and sweets.

Last year (from left) Brigid Morris, Paige Pettigrew and Lindy Simons enjoyed the Princess Tea and this year is promising just as much pampering while raising money for Springhill’s elementary schools.

Last year organizer Diana Pettigrew didn’t have any way of knowing if the event would resonate with the public, but it did.

“We didn’t know if we would have 10 or 15 students. We got over 100,” Pettigrew said. “They came from as far away as Oxford and Amherst.”

The event realized over $1,000, all of which was donated to the Springhill elementary schools and organizers are hoping to meet or exceeds last year’s numbers. And why not? The little Princesses Tea offers professional and volunteers services like hair dressing, nail and make up on top of cupcake snacks – all for $5. There’s also photography services and Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be there, too.

The Princess Tea will take place Thursday, May 29,between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre.
