SPRINGHILL – Two Springhill men were arrested this week and charged with possession of narcotics.
On Wednesday, April 16th 2014, members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the men were arrested for unlawful possession of Hydromorphone, a powerful narcotic listed under schedule 1 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A search warrant was executed at a Springhill residence and a 71-year old man and a 33-year old woman were taken into custody for trafficking in Hydromorphone. During the investigation a quantity of Hydromorphone capsules were seized.
The 71-year old Springhill man and 33-year old Springhill woman were charged with trafficking Hydromorphone and were released on conditions. They will be appearing on June 9, 2014, to answer to the charges.
