HALIFAX — Two men accused of confining and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in North Preston outside Halifax are due in court on Monday.
Police say two 18-year-old men have been charged with unlawful confinement, sexual assault and human trafficking.
The girl told police she was confined in a basement in a building on Clarence Street for two days before she escaped late Thursday.
Cpl. Scott MacRae says officers were called to the neighbourhood around 9 p.m. to investigate a report of shots being fired.
He says officers could find no evidence of a shooting, but found the girl who alleged that she had been threatened and held against her will.
Police say the two suspects, who are from North Preston, are also charged with sexual interference.
