SPRINGHILL – Grade 4 to 6 students at Junction Road Elementary in Springhill have been putting their geography skills to the test, earning three of them high accolades.

Junction Road Elementary hosted the great Canadian Geography Challenge within its Grade 3 to 6 classes and after three months of preparation and competition named (from left) Fiona Morris, Bailey Williams and Brody Allen its school champions.

Since January they have been answering questions and learning interesting facts in preparation for the Great Canadian Geography Challenge.

In late March students answered a series of questions within their classrooms to determine three finalists for each class.

On April 2, the nine finalists competed in the gym in front of classmates and family to determine the school champion by answering 25 difficult questions. All students did a wonderful job.

Junction Road Elementary issued a special thank you to Grade 4/5 teacher, Ms. Teresa Dowe, for organizing the event.
