Spring Talent Auction

6:30 p.m. dessert/viewing at Trinity United Church Oxford, followed by auction at 7 p.m.

 

Girl Guide Cookies

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Girl Guides selling chocolate and vanilla cookies door-to-door in Amherst.

 

Pancake Supper

2 to 6 p.m. at the Collingwood Firehall, 70 Wentworth-Collingwood Rd. Menu includes pancakes, sausages, homemade beans, brown bread, rolls, cake, tea, coffee or juice. Sponsored by the CDVFD Ladies Auxiliary.

 

Benefit for Scott Chapman

1 p.m to midnight at the Amherst Lions Club, 9 Electric St., Amherst. Live entertainment and live auction throughout the afternoon and evening. Face painting from 2 to 4 p.m. Proceeds to support Scott Chapman, recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

 

Pancake Breakfast

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southampton Community Centre featuring pancakes, fresh maple syrup, scrambled eggs and baked beans. Proceeds to support community initiatives.

 

Safe Talk Training and Community Forum

9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Goal of community forum is to help community identify what is needed to make Cumberland County safe from suicide. Supported by Cumberland CAST Coalition.

 

Cut-A-Thon

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Changes School of Hair Design, 8 Croft St., Amherst. Proceeds to support Cat Rescue Maritimers (CA-R-Ma). Call 667-3810 for more information.

 

Open Mic

7 p.m. at the Diligent River Community Hall.

 

Double D 4-H Breakfast

8 to 11 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Amherst. Call 667-7486 for tickets. Proceeds support Double D 4-H Club.

 

 

Sunday, April 6

 

Roast Beef Dinner

4 to 6 p.m at the RCAFA Association (105) Cumberland Wing, Havelock Street, Amherst. Call 667-9262 for more information. Free delivery within town limits.

 

Age of Sail AGM

2 p.m. at the FPW Fire Hal, Port Greville. Guest speaker Devin Trefry from Central Nova Tourist Association.
