Double D club wins junior. senior woodsman competition

4-H clubs from across Cumberland County gathered in Pugwash for the annual spring rally.

PUGWASH – Cumberland 4-H held its spring rally on Saturday at Pugwash District High School with a number of events including the always popular woodsman competition.

The Senior Woodsmen competition was won the by Double D B while Double D won the Junior Woodsmen competition.

Selina Schoten of Bay Vista Conn’s Mills won the Junior Introducer award while Lauren Shears of Double D won the Junior Thanker competition. Maria Duynisveld of Bay Vista Conn’s Mills won Junior Speaker and John Burns Duynisveld of Bay Vista Conn’s Mills won Intermediate Speaker, while Sadie Jacobs-Peters won the Senior Speaker competition.

The Junior Single Demonstration award went to Josiah Bushen of the Linden 4-H Club, Melissa Baxter of the Double D 4-H Club won the Senior Single Demonstration, Isaac Atkinson and Jarrett Bacon of the Double D club won the Junior Double Demonstration and Cory Pipes and Ben Bacon of Double D won the Senior Double Demonstration.

Vaiva Arrez Gouch of Ro-Win-Lea won the Junior Hand Drawn Poster award and Teresa Verstraten of the Sunrise 4-H Club won the Senior Hand Drawn Poster and Senior Computer Poster awards.

Kamryn Findlay of Ro-Win-Lea won the Cumberland County 4-H Hostess Award and Ben Bacon of Double D won the Cumberland County 4-H Host award.
