Two Amherst men are facing charges following an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
AMHERST – Two people are facing drug charges after a search warrant was executed at an Amherst residence on Wednesday by members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
A 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, both from Amherst were arrested during a suspected drug transaction in Amherst.
As a result of the arrests, a marihuana and cash was seized, and a subsequent search warrant was executed at an Amherst residence where a quantity of cannabis marijuana and drug trafficking evidence was seized.
The 30-year-old Amherst man is facing charges of trafficking in marijuana, possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of breach of a probation order.
The 29-year-old Amherst man is facing charges of possession of marijuana and two counts of breach of a probation order.
Both men were released from custody and are scheduled to return to provincial court on May 12 to enter a plea to the charges.
