RCMP are investigating the theft of two industrial fluid blocks from a business yard in Swift Current.

The Swift Current RCMP is asking for the public's help in identifying the persons responsible for metal thefts in the Swift Current area and, recently, the theft of industrial fluid blocks.

Sometime between Jan. 1 and March 1 unknown person(s) entered into the yard of a Swift Current business and removed two industrial fluid blocks. One of the blocks is made of stainless steel while the other is made of an aluminum bronze composition. Both blocks are approximately 41" x 22" x 10" in size and weigh in excess of 1,000 lbs each. The fluid blocks are valued at approximately $30,000 each when new ($1,000 to $3,000 each as scrap metal).

The RCMP is also asking metal dealers that may have purchased these items as scrap metal, not realizing they were stolen, to contact the Swift Current General Investigation Section at 306-778-4870 or your nearest RCMP detachment quoting file 2014-235572.
