Olivia McLean of Sussex was presented with a new helmet over the weekend signed by bronze-medalist Canadian Jan Hudec, who represented the nation at Sochi in the super-G. Wearing a helmet is credited with saving McLean’s life.

McLean says she doesn’t remember the crash she was in, but did recall being told wearing helmets at Ski Wentworth is mandatory so she borrowed her brother’s.
