SPRINGHILL – Scott Munro is pumped for next Wednesday.
When the arena manager for Springhill’s community centre booked a gang of country artists, he was pretty excited he nabbed the only Nova Scotia stop of the Young Guns Tour, featuring Brett Kissel, One More Girl, Livy Jeanne, Cory Marquardt and Jordan McIntosh.
That was in December, when Munroe thought he was just booking a solid night of country music entertainment.
Then, this week, he took a look at Country Music Television’s [CMT] top five music videos and came to the realization he unwittingly booked the hottest country music tour going.
“Three of them are currently hold positions in the top five videos on CMT,” Munro said. “Brett Kissel is number one right now, Livy Jeanne is second and One More Girl is in the number four spot.”
That wasn’t the case when Munro initially booked the tour. Kissel’s number-one hit is only days old, and One More Girl’s video has a few weeks of airtime over Kissel’s.
“Both are new videos,” Munro said. “It’s a fortunate coincidence we booked them before Christmas before they topped the charts. It’s great to see all this talent being recognized while they’re on tour and taking off on the charts as Wednesday gets closer.”
The show, Munro said, promises to be a big night for the community – bot just because of the talent, but the caliber of show that comes with the artists. “I don’t think people realize how big this show will be; the sound, the lights, the tour busses pulling into town that afternoon. I’m really excited.”
The Young Guns Tour hits the stage at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre on Wednesday, March 5th and advance tickets are available at the community centre, Amherst Music Store or by calling 902-763-3000.
Brett Kissel’s video for “3-2-1-“ is currently ranked No. 1 by CMT; Livy Jeanne’s “Wrong Side of the Dirt” is No. 2; and One More Girl’s “Love Lie Mine” is holding the No. 4 position.
