Classes cancelled for seven days this winter, eight in Cumberland part of board

So far this year, the Chignecto Central Regional School Board has cancelled school for seven days. An eighth day was cancelled in the Cumberland portion of the school board district.

There are no plans to make up any days in the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board.

At this point, however, the school board is not looking at adding any additional days of school, said spokesperson Debbie Buott-Matheson.

“That’s not something that’s being talked about,” she said.

That said, if they start to hear some concerns from their teachers about not being able to properly complete curriculum, they may discuss it in the future.

Our teachers are experienced and very flexible,” she said. “They’re extremely adept at delivering curriculum in less than ideal circumstances.
