Outage affecting approximately 260 customers

PLEASANT BAY — The Pleasant Bay School is closed for the day due to a power outage in northern Cape Breton which is impacting approximately 260 Nova Scotia Power customers.

In addition to Pleasant Bay, the outage is affecting parts of Ingonish, Dingwall, Neils Harbour, Meat Cove, Cape North, Red River and White Point.

According to Nova Scotia Power's website the cause of some of the outages is high winds and freezing rain, while the cause of the outage in the Red River and Pleasant Bay area is still being investigated. Power is expected to be restored to all communities by 11:45 a.m.

    Maybe NS Power should start looking at upgrading the lines and cut down old trees and crap causing so much outage -No need of this just lining their pockets and not taking care of customers
