Marijuana grow operation dismantled and seized

A 42-year-old Amherst man was charged following a search of his home on Thursday by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

A 42-year-old Amherst man was charged following a search of his home on Thursday by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

AMHERST – A 42-year-old man is facing several drug charges following a search of an Amherst home on Thursday.

The man is charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and production of marijuana.

The investigation was conducted by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

During the search, a marijuana grow operation was dismantled and seized along with marijuana plants and a quantity of dried marijuana.

The man was released from custody will return to court on March 31 to enter a plea.
