Fundraiser will help raise money for group tours towards the end of June

Representatives from Cumberland’s seven 4-H groups (Double “D”, Sunrise, Bay Vista-Conns Mills, Three-Way 4-H, Ro-Win-Lea, Oxford 4-H and Linden 4-H) served breakfast on Saturday at the Amherst Lions Den to help raise money for their 4-H group tours that will be taking place towards the end of June. AMHERST-It isn’t getting any less expensive to travel. That’s why Cumberland 4-H teamed up with the Amherst Lions club on Saturday to hold to a breakfast fundraiser to help raise money for such worthwhile endeavours as June 4-H tours.

“It will help a lot,” said Cumberland 4-H tour co-chair Crystal Siddall. “The Amherst Lions club is a great supporter. We try to keep the costs down. Sometimes there are three to four members per family. The juniors are going to the Cherry Brook Zoo before taking the ferry from Saint John to Digby where they will go to Upper Clements Park. I’m not sure where the seniors want to go yet, maybe white water rafting or whale watching. We are having a roast beef supper on March 1.”

On Saturday, March 1, Cumberland 4-H will be putting on a roast beef supper at the Amherst Lions Den. The first sitting will be at 4:00 pm while the second sitting will be at 6:00 pm. Fifteen dollars per plate. Phone (902) 546-2598 for tickets.
