SACKVILLE, N.B. -  Members of the Mount Allison Faculty Association (MAFA) who have been on strike since Monday were joined Friday by peers from across the country in a solidarity rally.

MAFA protesters and fellow academic staff from 15 Canadian universities marched around the local university campus, led by drummers and chanting slogans and singing at noon.

Following the march, the group rallied at the bandstand in downtown Sackville.

The Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) Defence Fund has over 20,000 members from 50 unions and sends solidarity pickets when a member union is on strike.
