AMHERST – The Amherst Police Department responded to 29 complaints over the weekend, including complaints of assault, theft, disturbances, harassment, and liquor offences.

On Friday evening, police received two different complaints of assault, as a result, 34-year-old Nicholas Dulenty of Amherst has been charged with two counts of assault and uttering threats.

The department also responded to a disturbance at an eating establishment on Prince Arthur Street, and a complaint of underage drinking.

olice also received a 911 misdial and officers confirmed all was in order. 

On Saturday, police responded to an assistance call from EHS.

On Saturday evening, police received a disturbance call in the Davison Street area, a report of an altercation on Herbert Street, and an assault on Davison Street with no charges being laid at this point.

On Sunday, police received a request for a well-being check where EHS was called. 

On Sunday evening, officers responded to a false alarm on Acadia Street.

On Monday, the department responded to a report of a smashed windshield of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Cumberland YMCA. 

Police received a parking complaint on York Street, a 911 hang-up on Crescent Avenue, and a disturbance on Davison Street.

Police also received a complaint of theft in relation to a dispute on Church Street, but no charges laid.
