Flash freeze tonight
AMHERST – Environment Canada is warning that rain and mild temperatures are gong to be followed by colder weather tonight.
A special weather statement has been issued for the area. It says mild temperatures and periods of rain are forecast this afternoon as a warm front pushes north of Nova Scotia. Temperatures in some areas will reach five to eight degrees.
Tonight, a strong cold front will sweep across the region and temperatures will plummet in its wake. The combination of rain snow melt and rapidly falling temperatures could lead to some slippery roads and sidewalks.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
