PARRSBORO – A flu vaccine clinic will be held in Parrsboro on Tuesday, Jan. 14. To make an appointment, please call 254-2540 and select extension 2.
The clinic is open to everyone, however it is hoped those who are most at risk will take advantage of the clinic. Those are people over 65, those with chronic health conditions, children between six months and five years of age, pregnant women, and those who live with those at risk.
This seasonal flu vaccine is free of charge for all Nova Scotians.
You cannot get influenza from these vaccines, according to a press release from the Cumberland Health Authority, which assures they are safe and effective.
Those attending the clinic are asked to bring their Nova Scotia health card. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or the accompanying adult must have written permission for the child’s immunization from that parent/legal guardian.
The flu clinic will be held at the Parrsboro Primary Care Clinic from 3-7 p.m.
