One of nine meetings provincewide
AMHERST – The committee holding public consultations on the school review process will be in Amherst on Jan. 20.
The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Amherst Regional High School
The committee, headed by Robert Fowler, has begun to gather public input from the public, school advisory councils, school boards, the teachers union and municipalities to develop recommendations that will be given to Education Minister Karen Casey by Feb 28.
The province is studying the school review process, including the process used to review schools for possible closure so attention is paid to the value of the school to students, school bards, communities and the local economy.
Submissions can be mailed to School Review Process Consultation, Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, c/o Corporate Policy, P.O. Box 578, Halifax, B3J 2S9.

Deadline for submissions is Jan. 24.
