Yes that is how he is known to the young people in his parish. Fr. Doug (Shrek) MacDonald is a young priest and will be coming to this area to give an interactive youth- styled presentation this coming Friday at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall in New Glasgow.

Fr. Doug is big like Shrek, wrestled and played football for St.F.X.U. and was a four-time World Caber Tossing Champion in the Highland Games heavy events, but he also has a keen understanding of failure in his life, organizers say.

He will present “Living life to the full: Body, Mind and Spirit”. It is a video/power point jammed evening of sports stories, pictures and interactive faith discussion on how to get the most out of life.

The message of the presentation is that God wants you to live life to the full, so you can be a gift to your community and the world. Youth are invited to come and experience this stirring vision of life on Friday night, Dec. 6 starting at 7 p.m. The program is particularly of interest for youth in Grades 8 to 12.
