SYDNEY — There's plenty to do around Cape Breton today. The Cape Breton Post has compiled a list of many of them. Be sure to check it out before you head out today for some great ideas.

GLACE BAY

10 a.m., The Glace Bay Cheerleaders are holding a bottle drive, if anyone would like to schedule a pickup they can call 574-6121, please leave a message if no answer

NEW WATERFORD

6:30 p.m., Maple Hill Manor will be hosting a candlelight dinner at the KOC, Plummer Avenue, in celebration of our town's 100th anniversary, cocktails at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. and an auction to follow, for information, call 862-6495

8 p.m., (CD) AA Arcano Group meeting, Ling Street.

EAST BAY

8 p.m., Meat darts at Northside East Bay fire hall. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

GRAND MIRA SOUTH

8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., There will be a dance held at St. Margaret Community Hall. Music by Tried & True. 19 years and older.

MABOU

10 p.m.-1 a.m., Square dance (open to all ages), West Mabou Hall. For more information phone 902-945-2814.

MARION BRIDGE

1-3 p.m., Christmas turkey salad tea and craft/bake tables, St. Columba Church Hall. Turkey salad, rolls, dessert with tea or coffee; craft and bake tables. Eat in or take outs available.
