SACKVILLE, N.B. – The Canadian Atlantic Provinces Chapter of NATS will be holding its annual SongFest on Saturday in the Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music on Mount Allison’s campus.
This competition features performances of classical and music theatre vocal works by talented young singers from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
The SongFest runs all day, from 9:30 a.m. to about 4:30 p.m.
The National Association of Teachers of Singing is an organization of professional voice teachers with members across Canada and the United States.
The annual SongFest gives student singers the opportunity to perform for adjudication by knowledgeable judges, and to listen to their colleagues from other universities. Winners in each age category are awarded cash prizes to help further their studies.
The competition will be held at Brunton Auditorium and in the Choral Room in the Conservatory, with initial rounds in the various age categories.
Final rounds will take place in Brunton Auditorium beginning at about 3:30 p.m.
All competition events are free and open to the public.
