TRURO – Two adult males were arrested for impaired driving here over the weekend.

At approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, a car was observed squealing its tires on Walker Street. Truro Police Service officers stopped the car and had reason to demand a breath sample from the driver.

The reading of the roadside screening device registered a fail and the driver was arrested.

The 45-year-old North River man has been released from police custody and will appear in court at a later date on impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.

The following evening, officers stopped a car at around midnight after observing it being driven in an erratic manner.

The driver failed the roadside test and provided samples of his breath that were three times the legal limit.

A small quantity of marijuana and cannabis resin were also found.

A 62-year-old Truro man will appear in court on Nov. 6 to face charges of impaired driving, failing the breathalyzer and possession of a controlled substance.
