AMHERST-The Amherst 50 Plus Club held its annual Fall Fair on Saturday. According to organizer Merrill Murray, turkey burgers were a very big hit.

"This the first year that we served turkey burgers," stated Murray. "Since we started serving them at 9:30 am, we've sold over 100," he added at noon.

In fact, Cumberland North incumbent Brian Skabar enjoyed his turkey burger so much that he came back for more. To his dismay, they were sold out.

"I went back to the 50 Plus Club for turkey burgers, but turns out they were sold out by 12:30 pm," stated Skabar who was joined by Darrell Dexter.

"Premier Dexter was here for 45 minutes to an hour," stated Murray. "He was great." Cumberland North PC candidate Judi Giroux also attended the event which featured a variety of yard-sale items for sale by vendors.

One of these vendors was Pat Frenette who sold items at the White Elephant Table. Meanwhile, Margaret Moor was selling tickets on a full pantry. Amherst mayor Robert Small drew the winning pantry ticket at 3:00 pm.
