WESTVILLE – Monday night the Town of Westville approved the purchase of a new truck to replace the 1995 Freightliner currently operated by the Westville Fire Department.
The new vehicle, to be purchased from Metalfab Ltd., will cost the town $195,000. Approximately $2,985.41 in leasing costs, based on six per cent, will also be added to that cost.
This rescue truck will be built on a 2011 Freightliner model. Although it is a 2011, it’s a new truck that had not been sold by the dealer. Because of that it resulted in a lower cost than purchasing a 2014 vehicle.
This is estimated to increase the town’s long-term debt from 9.3 per cent to 9.4 per cent.
