Man injured in Sydney Mines garage fire

SYDNEY MINES - A 72-year-old man is in hospital after suffering serious injuries during a garage fire on Saturday.

Cape Breton Regional Police North Division members responded to the fire at 264 Pitt St. Upon arrival, police learned from members of the Sydney Mines Fire Service that they had removed a 72-year-old male from the burning garage. The male was transported by EHS to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with what has been termed serious injuries.

The fire investigation has been turned over to the Fire Marshall's office and they will be assisted by members of the CBRPS Identification Section.
