AMHERST – Voters in Cumberland North will get their first chance to hear all three candidates talk about the issues on Tuesday when the Amherst and Area Chamber of Commerce hosts an election forum.

Terry Farrell of the Liberal Party, Judi Giroux of the Progressive Conservatives and Brian Skabar of the NDP have confirmed their participation the event set for the Amherst Lions Club.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the forum beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Each of the candidates will have three minutes to given an opening statement followed by a question and answer period from the panel made up of Amherst News managing editor Darrell Cole, Frank Likely of Tantramar Radio, Dave March of CKDH and chamber president Gladys Coish.

The candidates will also have an opportunity to ask each other questions.

People are invited to submit written questions the panel will use to ask the candidates. Questions can be dropped off at the chamber office at 35 Church St. or emailed to info@amherstchamber.ca.

A second candidates’ forum is at the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church Hall in Pugwash beginning at 7 p.m.
