On possession, trafficking charges
AMHERST – Two Pugwash women have been charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking following an investigation on Thursday.
A 55-year-old woman and a 31-year-old woman were arrested by members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit following the investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
During the investigation, a quantity of pills, believed to be ecstasy, were seized along with cannabis marijuana and other evidence to support trafficking charges.
Both women were released from custody and ordered to appear in court on Nov. 4 to enter pleas.
Also on Thursday, the unit conducted a separate trafficking investigation in Amherst, arresting an 18-year-old man for possession of marijuana and a 25-year-old man for trafficking in marijuana.
A search warrant of an Amherst residence was also executed.
Both men were released from custody and will appear in court on Nov. 4.
