The 19th annivesary edition of the event raised money for support, awareness and prevention.
This year, donations from the annual walk will be split between supporting people with HIV living in Cape Breton and the purchase of condoms.
In the past, the condoms were donated by a condom manufacturer but that option is no longer available. Since the federal government doesn't fund direct services and the province's funding goes toward the coalition's needle exchange program, it's now up to the coalition to raise the money needed to purchase the condoms.
