TRURO – Host families are still being sought for young Canadian and Indonesian youth.

The youth will be in Truro from Oct. 11 to Dec. 30 as part of the Canada World Youth’s youth leaders in action.

Eighteen youth aged 18 to 24 will spend three months in the community before heading to Indonesia for three months. During their stay in Truro, the youth will participate in various volunteer projects in the community.

All types of households are invited to become host families and share daily activities with the volunteers. Host families won’t have to alter their lifestyles in any way – one goal of the program is to integrate participants into every day family life. Host families receive a monthly allowance of $720.

Anyone interested in becoming a host family, or would like more information, can contact project supervisor Jeff Steele at 897-8820 or jsteele@cwy-jcm.org.
