DARTMOUTH - A 44-year-old man is facing several charges for allegedly uttering death threats to police after he was found drunk and urinating on a Dartmouth manâ€™s lawn, and then later for trying to assault an officer and steal his handgun.
Police say the accused attempted to punch the home owner as officers were being called to a residence on Pleasant Street in Dartmouth around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. The 44-year-old then resisted arrest and allegedly threatened to kill officers as he was being arrested.
Then later after being placed in a cell at Halifax Regional Police headquarters, police say the drunken man tried to assault an officer and steal his handgun. No one ended up being injured.
The 44-year-old is charged with two counts of uttering death threats, and single counts of assault, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and attempt to disarm police.
