AMHERST-Students from Mount Allison University made their way across the Tantramar Marsh from Sackville to Amherst on Saturday where they raised money for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in conjunction with Shine-A-Rama Shine Day.
CF is the most commonly inherited genetic disease in Canada. There is no cure for CF; only treatment.
Last year, Mount Allison students raised $50,000.00 on Shine Day in support of CF, a total that they were hoping to match or surpass this year.
`Seeing this students today made me recall my own Shine-A-Rama days,` stated Cumberland North NDP MLA Brian Skabar Saturday morning outside Food Land. `They only seemed liked yesterday but, they were probably more like 40 years ago,` added the University of Winnipeg and graduate. ` I am proud to say that both of my children are Mount Allison grads,` he added.
