Do you have some thoughts to share with Metro Transit? The bus and ferry provider is seeking input from community members on its five year plan.

Metro Transit is currently developing a new five year service plan, called “Moving Forward Together,” which will define the transit authority’s development goals for the next half-decade.

“We’re asking participants to look beyond day-to-day operational issues, and think about what the goals of Metro Transit should be for the next five years,” the transit authority said via press release.

To gather feedback, Metro Transit will be holding six public meetings, all taking place next week.

Sessions will be held Monday, Sept. 9 at St. Agnes Hall on Mumford Road, on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Royal Canadian Legion on Sackville Cross Road and Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Holiday Inn Harbourview on Wyse Road. There will be two sessions each day, starting at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.

In addition to the public meetings, anyone can offer their thoughts online, via surveys and forums available through http://halifax.ca/movingforwardtogether/, or by emailing movingforward@halifax.ca. Metro Transit is also taking suggestion through the #moving4ward Twitter hashtag.

Everyone who completes a survey, either at the public sessions or online before Sept. 30, will be entered in a draw to win an iPad Mini.
