Munch On Take-Out patrons Cory Ryan (left) and Nick Rushton gave into their primal urges Saturday afternoon by attempting to consume this near three-pound Carnivore Submarine sandwich prepared by the recently opened Crescent Avenue Restaurant. Ruston won the contest. Each contestant, who won the right to compete in the Carnivore Challenge by entering their name in a draw, received a framed photograph of themselves consuming the sub and a dinner for two as well.
AMHERST-Two young men from Amherst went head-to-head this afternoon in the 30 minute Carnivore Challenge. Named for the enormous three pound submarine sandwich that sells for $10.00 at the recently opened Munch-On Take Out Restaurant located on Crescent Avenue, 16-year-old Nick Rushton ate more of his Carnivore sub than his opponent Cory Ryan, 20, was able to. Watch for the complete Carnivore Challenge story tomorrow on cumberlandnewsnow.com and in next Friday's edition of The Amherst News. In the meantime, Munch On is open until 9 pm tonight. It will re-open on Monday from 11 am until 8 pm (Mon-Wed hours; Thurs.-Sat.: 11 am until 9 pm).
