TRURO – The province’s newest Hunting and Outdoors Show is almost here.
It runs Sept. 6 to 8 at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre.
The show will be packed with the region’s leading retailers of hunting gear and equipment, firearms, archery, guiding and outfitters, taxidermist, clubs and associations, ATV/UTV’s, boats and outboards and other power and outdoor equipment with plenty of show sales to be had. This event is just in time to gear up for the upcoming hunting season.
Jeff Campbell, from the Truro Chapter of the Delta Waterfowl Group and two-time Canadian duck calling champion, will be doing calling demonstrations and showcasing some winning techniques. Ace Boater.com will be on hand providing boat card testing, and Valley Taxidermy will have a display.
The Big Game Society of Nova Scotia wants hunters to ‘show them your rack’ and will be set up to score and display some of Nova Scotia’s most impressive trophies.
Several prizes are available for visitors to the event including custom knives from Triple X Knives and the Truro Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is donating a print.
The Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the Nova Scotia Association of Cross Bow Hunters, and the National Wild Turkey Federation have thrown their support behind the show.
Admission is $8 for general admission, with ages 10 to 18 set at $6. A weekend pass is $15. Children under 10 are free if accompanied by an adult.
The show runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 6, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 7, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 8.
