Five men arrested for early morning Allan Street break and enter

Police responded to a break and enter early this morning on Allan Street in Halifax.

Officers responded to a call at 3:50 a.m., from a 30-year-old upstairs tenant in the 6200 block. The man was alone in his apartment when his door was kicked in and a television and jewellery stolen.

The man was not injured during the incident.

After bring provided with a description of the vehicle in which the suspects fled the scene, officers were able to stop the car in the 800 block of Bedford Highway, arrest the occupants and recover the stolen property.

Five men, ages 21, 35, 37, 38 and 40, were taken into custody for break and enter. 

Police say the investigation is in its early stages and additional charges may follow.
