Municipality Contributes $6,500 to Joggins Legion

District 9 County Councillor Mike McLellan, on behalf of the Municipality of Cumberland, presented Joggins Legion Branch # 4 member Girwan White with a cheque for $6,500.00 for kitchen upgrades. The legion holds monthly Wing Nights.

JOGGINS-Do you smell what the Joggins legion is cooking? Thanks to a contribution of $6,500.00 by the Municipality of Cumberland to the Joggins Legion Branch # 4 on Tuesday, its monthly Wing Nights will never be the same.

The Joggins legion plans to utilize this money to re-do its kitchen area, which includes the replacement of some windows.

"I'm very happy with the $6,500.00 for the legion," stated Joggins Legion member Girvan White on Tuesday. "Without the Muncipality of Cumberland's support, we would have closed the doors by now," he added.

White was presented a cheque for $6,500.00 from District 9 County Councillor Mike McLellan on behalf of the Munipality of Cumberland.

The county doesn't have any control whatsoever over the school. I'm sure they would love to see it finished but that's entirely up to the provincial government. I'm not sure what you have against helping out the Legion - do you have a problem with veterans too?
