Hicks sentenced to 25 months custody

AMHERST – Bradley Richard Hicks, 19, of Clinton Street, Amherst, was sentenced in court on Wednesday to 25 months federal custody after pleading guilty to nine charges.

He was sentenced to 16 months custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to break and entering a dwelling house and committing an indictable offence therein.

The incident occurred Aug. 15, 2012, in Amherst.

Hicks was also sentenced in court on Wednesday to three months custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to having in his possession a DVD player, personal identification, flashlights and gift-cards, the value of which did not exceed $5,000.

The incident occurred Sept. 23, 2012, in Amherst.

He was also sentenced in court on Wednesday to two months custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to stealing a purse belonging to another person, which contained American and Canadian currency, a gold chain with pendant and a cellular phone, the value of which did not exceed $5,000.

The incident occurred Sept. 25, 2012, in Amherst.

Hicks was also sentenced in court on Wednesday to one month custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to stealing two Cover Girl make-up items, the property of Lawtons Drug Store, of a value not exceeding $5,000.

The incident occurred Dec. 5, 2012, in Amherst.

He was also sentenced in court on Wednesday to one month custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to committing mischief by willfully damaging without legal excuse, the windshield wiper and ignition keys of a bulldozer belonging to another person, the value of which did not exceed $5,000.

The incident occurred May 3, 2013 in Amherst.

Hicks was also sentenced in court on Wednesday to an additional three months custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to three counts of failing to comply with a curfew.

The incidents occurred two times on June 14, 2013, in Amherst and June 9, 2013, in Amherst.
