Springhill inmates raise money for Kids Help Phone

Inmates hosted an ice cream social and walk in support of the Kids Help Phone in memory of Jenna Bowers-Bryanton, who lost her life in 2001 becaue of bullying and depressing. SPRINGHILL – In January of 2011, 15-year-old Jenna Bowers-Bryanton lost her life because of bullying and depression. 

Her mom, Pam is a staff member at Springhill Institution and following her tragedy a group of inmates at the Institution decided to do something to help. 

For the second year in a row, the inmate population has participated in an ice cream social and walk in support of the Kids Help Phone charity. 

This year, despite the weather, the inmates raised over $900 for this worthwhile charity. 

Last year the inmates raised $1300 for a total contribution of $2,200.
