SACKVILLE - RCMP called off a planned aerial search for missing Mount Allison student Chris Metallic today.

MIssing: Chris Metallic

Early yesterday morning, a post on the Facebook page “Chris Metallic - Please help us bring him home” stated family members believed they had found an item that may have been in Metallic’s possession on the day he disappeared.

The Facebook page is frequently updated by Metallic’s mother, Mandy.

RCMP had planned to conduct a search of the area where the new piece of evidence was found, but have stated the item found by family members was not in Metallic’s possession on the night he disappeared.

The family has stated they intend to continue searching in the area where they are currently looking.

Metallic, a third-year Mount Allison University student, hasn’t been seen or heard from since the early-morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. After leaving a house party on Allison Avenue in downtown Sackville just after 1:30 a.m., he was then seen near the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Bridge Street at around 2 a.m. by a friend, who said Metallic told him he was heading home, to his house on Maple Avenue. But he never made it there.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RCMP at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267) or N.B. Crime Stoppers online at crimenb.ca or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
