Riders sent to hospital after two-vehicle collision

McCALLUM SETTLEMENT – Two motorcyclists were taken to hospital on Sunday, one by LifeFlight, following a collision with an all-terrain vehicle.

A 50-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Sunday after the motorcycle he was driving collided with an all-terrain vehicle in McCallum Settlement. 

Colchester RCMP responded to the collision call just before 2 p.m. on Truro Road in McCallum Settlement.

A Kawasaki motorcycle had been traveling on a gravel portion of Truro Road and rounded a blind corner. It collided with a Polaris all-terrain vehicle that as exiting a driveway.

The 50-year-old male driver and 48-year-old female passenger of the motorcycle were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The male was airlifted to hospital. The rider of the all-terrain vehicle was not injured.

The investigation continues, however alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the collision.
