FALL RIVER – A 14-year-old from Truro is facing a number of charges following a suspicious activity complaint here early Thursday morning.

The Truro teen has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and breach charges after RCMP received a complaint shortly after midnight of four males being spotted going in and out of driveways and around vehicles on Howe Avenue.

When police arrived on scene, two males fled on foot while the other two were observed in a Ford Escape.

The two suspects to flee on foot were tracked and apprehended an hour later. They were hiding behind a vehicle on a property in the 3500 block of Highway 2.

A police investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen from Bedford. All four men were in violation of court orders, including curfews.

Along with the Truro teen, an 18-year-old from Halifax has been charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. A 14-year-old from Waterville and 17-year-old from Dartmouth have been charged with trespassing at night and violating court orders.

All four suspects remain in police custody and are set to appear in court on Thursday.
