MACCAN – Cumberland RCMP are investigating an attempted break and enter in Maccan where the home owners gave the would-be thieves the old heave-ho.

On Saturday, June 30, shortly after 1 a.m., RCMP responded to a 911 call from a Hillside Drive residence reporting two men wearing ski masks entered the home and confronted the residents. The residents were able to remove the suspects without any reported serious injury, according to the press release issued by RCMP, and the suspects fled away on foot.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward to local RCMP or by contacting Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
